(SOLD) 19th Century Masons Ironstone Chinoiserie Jardiniere Pattern Snake Handle Pitcher
Jug has the octagonal Hydra shape with a snake handle, dates to the mid Victorian period of the 19th century, circa 1860. Chinoiserie pattern (Jardiniere pattern) – a flower box design. Very impressive color retention with deep blue and green and gold gilding. Also retains a very old handwritten label illegible.
Jug is marked under-glaze with the rounded blue Mason’s crown to the base with Mason’s above a banner, stating Patent Ironstone China. We date this jug to the mid 19th Century, circa. 1860
