Antique 19th Century Thomason Barrel Bone and Bronze Corkscrew, England

Fantastic example of a Thomason barrel type corkscrew.  Patented in 1802, made in England. Bronze, Copper and Iron Corkscrew with bone handle and bristle brush end. Placing the corkscrew over the bottle neck & continually turning the handle clockwise, the cork is removed in quick & easy fashion. Then, by turning the handle anti-clockwise – the cork will fall off the worm.

Has crest plaque that states Thomasons, “NE PLUS ULTRA” meaning “No more beyond”. and additional text that is illegible from wear and polishing.
