Whoa! An amazing piece of history here. I have owned this piece for nearly a decade and finally decided to part with it. It was a beautiful centerpiece on my 60″ wolf range, and then my 48″ viking.  At this time I no longer have a stove or island that can handle the beauty of this piece! I was told by someone at sometime that they believe it to be so large with its unusual shape because it likely was on a trans continental steam ship. Not sure if that is true. It is marked “H” with a “16” under it which I believe is 16 quarts.
