(SOLD) Impressive Qing Dynasty Waisted Carved Altar Table of Hongmu Wood 81″L

This impressive altar table with original patina features cabriole legs and elaborate carvings. Carved from 2” thick hongmu. Dating back to the Qing dynasty, the solid plank top has everted ends. The apron contains three configured drawers added later. Cabriole carved legs with detail, scrolled feet on risers. Wear consistent with age and use, old repairs. In ancient China, slender, long tables like such as this one are often referred to as “altar tables” and used to hold musical instruments, flowers, or vases.
