Fabulous original trompe l’oeil painting on wood panel of two hanging California quail birds by Lee H. Tichenor 1879.  Signed lower right corner L.H. Tichenor 1879

Framed: 15 w x 20 h x 1.5 d
Painting: 9.5 w x 14.5 h

Mrs. Tichenor was active in San Francisco, Mendocino, and on the Monterey Peninsula circa 1860-82.  She then married Henry Schnarble and moved to Bertchesgaden, Germany.

Condition: Surface of painting is in very good condition, frame has some damage that has been touched up, some cracking to the gilt gold filet. Black outer frame has lacquer finish with some surface scratches and wear.
