(SOLD) Tammany Hall Cast Iron Coin Bank Circa 1873
Dug out of the ground by a bottle digger, this piece dates to 1873 is made by JE Stevens. Showing a fat man sitting in a chair it originally was painted. The sides are marked “Tammany Hall” and was meant to be a commentary on New York City’s corrupt political organization called Tammany Hall.
Rusted condition, head moves – arm does not, may with cleaning.
