What a great contemporary mixed media folk art sculpture by David E Bell (1921-2006). Consisting of a hand painted wooden carved santos or saint figure holding a serpent wrapped around her mounted within a found box that is lined with needlepoint panels in David’s signature style of work. Signed with title and date of “Spring 03” on back.

Measures: 10.5″W x 17″H x 4.75″D

This piece is by late designer David E. Bell of Washington, CT. David was always an artist, but first was an actor on stage in NYC, and then head of the Bloomingdale’s Interior Design dept in the 60’s-70’s and then a principle in the design firm Design Multiples in the 80’s. This piece is from his estate in Washington, CT.
