The front of this beautiful trunk is painted in rich red and yellow paint with underlying background hues of green.  Primitively made with forged iron straps and corner brackets and bent solid wire hinges.  Vaguely made out in the center of the cartouche on the front panel is the remnants of a gold dragon. The extravagant foliate and scroll  decoration add refinement to its otherwise rough-hewn construction.
