An unusual and rare item.  A small wooden lantern style token, hand painted, with a removable top that opens to reveal a roll of paper printed with views of Boston, Concord and Lexington. Appears it was likely purchased as a type of “postcard” and mailed to a recipient in Oregon. 3 cent postmark that has been stamped. One similar example by the same maker though that of a pottery style cooking pot can be seen in The Morgan Library & Museum.
