(SOLD) Primitive Pine Painted Side or Coffee Table, Sweden, Circa 1860
This is an adorable small primitive pine painted Swedish table. Has a full width drawer and carved details on all four sides of the apron and drawer, chamfered legs. We believe this originally would have been a full height table, probably used in a kitchen. Appears to have clamp marks on each end from some type of early use. In time and with wear, the legs likely were cut down, and now it serves as a fantastic coffee table or side table. A two board, well weathered and used top with a terrific patina.
The top is held on through the use of four hand carved wooden pegs (one missing – but does not affect use). Originally acquired in 1995 through Winsor Antiques, Fairfield CT ($975) and retains original labels.
Measures: 32″W x 17″D x 21.5″H
